Sat 28 May: listen to Charles Parker Prizewinners on Radio 4 Extra

Andy Cartwright, Co-ordinator of the Charles Parker Prize 2016 writes:

It was a great year with many excellent entries – it’s a shame there are only three prizes.

The winners were announced at the Charles Parker Day in Bristol in March and the programme featuring the winners will be transmitted on BBC Radio 4 Extra this Saturday (28th May) between 12-1pm – then on iPlayer for 30 days – click here to listen

Sara Parker, Charles Parker’s daughter and a prize-winning radio producer in her own right, will be talking to the judges about the entries and meeting the winners:

GOLD: In Memory of Ayrton Senna by Chris Delaney (Goldsmiths)
SILVER: Behind the Door by Mariana Des Forges (Goldsmiths)
BRONZE: Student Gamblers by Eve Conlon (Sunderland)

The programme will also feature extracts from the following features mentioned by the judges:

Somewhere on a Blue Horizon by Lisa Twohig (Sunderland)
And as we all know about the Titanic by Michael Oakes (Sunderland)
Beckenham Oddity by Michael Dale (Bournemouth)
The Wall by Edd Roberts (UWE)
The History Boy by Porle Miller (Sunderland).

And shorter clips from the following:
