The Birmingham Archives & Heritage online catalogue is now available!

The catalogue contains information about the archive collections that are held on the 6th floor of Birmingham Central Library. The archives, which have been designated by the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA) as being of national and international significance, include both original and printed records relating to the city of Birmingham, its people, businesses, institutions and societies. These include business records, letters, diaries, maps, drawings, photographs, films, sound and oral history recordings, title deeds, legal papers, as well as the records of societies, churches, schools and institutions of all kinds.

There are 334 catalogues (some 34,000 catalogue entries) available for you to search on the online catalogue. This is by no means all our collections (about 5.5% of them at this stage), but we will be adding to it all the time so please do check for new releases.

If you do a simple search on Charles Parker you will bring up hundreds of hits so if you want to look at the collection in order in its entirety then do the following:

Go to advance search and enter MS 4000 in the 'RefNo' field. This will bring up the collection level description.
To then view the collection as arranged in its hierarchical structure click on the highlighted MS 4000 and you can then work your way through the different sections should you so wish.

The CPA is also featured as one of the collections in the Showcase section.
